Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Bible FYP ("Bible FYP", "we", "us", or "our") covering your use of the Bible FYP mobile application and website (together, the "Service"). Bible FYP was previously published as Bible Talk. By downloading, installing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The short version: read the Bible as much as you like. Be kind in the community. Do not post anything abusive, sexual, hateful, or illegal. We can remove content and accounts that break these rules. AI generated prayers are a help for prayer, not a replacement for Scripture or your church.
1. The Service
Bible FYP is a Bible reading app that presents Scripture one verse at a time, with highlights, notes, bookmarks, guided prayer, verse sharing, and a community prayer wall. Scripture text comes from public domain translations, including the New Heart English Bible, King James Version, American Standard Version, and Berean Standard Bible. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
The app creates an anonymous account on your device so your reading progress and saved content can sync. To use the community you must sign in with Apple. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for keeping your device and Apple ID secure. You may delete your account at any time from your profile in the app.
4. Community rules
The community is a place to share prayer requests, encourage others, and talk about the Bible. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You agree not to post or send anything that:
- harasses, threatens, bullies, or intimidates anyone;
- is hateful or discriminatory toward any person or group;
- is sexually explicit, pornographic, or graphically violent;
- promotes self harm, suicide, eating disorders, or dangerous activities;
- is spam, a scam, unsolicited advertising, or a link to malware;
- impersonates another person, church, or organization;
- reveals someone else's private information without their consent;
- infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- is illegal or encourages illegal activity.
Every post, comment, and message can be reported from within the app, and you can block any member. We review reports promptly, normally within 24 hours, and will remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our sole discretion and without notice. Blocking a member hides their content from you and yours from them.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you create in the Service, including notes, prayer requests, posts, and comments ("Your Content"). By publishing Your Content in the community you grant us a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where it has already been shared by others or we must keep it for legal reasons.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the rights to post it. Notes and highlights you keep private are not shown to other members.
6. AI generated prayers
The guided prayer feature uses artificial intelligence to write a prayer from the topic or words you provide. The output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or theologically imperfect. It is offered as a help for personal prayer only. It is not a substitute for Scripture, the counsel of your pastor or church, or professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial advice. If you are in crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis line right away.
7. Purchases
Bible FYP is currently free. If we introduce paid features or subscriptions in the future, they will be sold through Apple's in app purchase system. Prices will be shown before you buy, subscriptions will renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel them in your App Store account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, artwork, illustrations, code, name, and logo, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non exclusive, non transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. You may share verse cards generated by the app for personal, non commercial purposes. The Bible translations themselves are in the public domain.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service, or reverse engineer or attempt to extract its source code;
- use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the Service or collect other members' content;
- interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks;
- bypass any security or content moderation measure;
- use the Service for any commercial purpose without our written permission.
10. Third party services
The Service relies on third party services such as Apple, Supabase, and AI providers. We are not responsible for those services, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. Links to other websites or apps are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including sections 5, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 16.
12. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT, INCLUDING AI GENERATED CONTENT, WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BIBLE FYP AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR FIFTY US DOLLARS.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.
15. Apple specific terms
These Terms are between you and Bible FYP only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent permitted by law Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo and are not on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and try in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the new Terms.
